Change of Feast Days

The Feasts of St. Patrick and St. Joseph will be celebrated on different dates this year because Holy Week commences on March 17. St Patrick’s Day has been moved from Monday 17th March to Friday 14th March and St. Joseph's Feastday from March 19 to March 15.

COROROOKE PARISH FAREWELL

Sr Margaret Carmody’s service to the Cororooke Parish community was recognized on February 3rd, when over three hundred people gathered for Mass at St. Brendan’s Church, Coragulac to celebrate and farewell Sr. Margaret.

CATHEDRAL COMMEMORATION

Bishop Connors celebrated Mass in the Cathedral on the evening of 7th February to commemorate the 150th Anniversary of the laying of the Foundation Stone of the Cathedral by the then Bishop of Melbourne, James Alipius Goold. The priests of the Cathedral concelebrated and a representative group of parishioners attended the Mass. We are indebted to Mr Michael Taffe, the Secretary of the Ballarat Diocesan Historical Commission, for arranging the celebration.

ONLY 145 DAYS TO GO!

The planning is progressing as we journey towards World Youth Day 2008. It is now under 6 months until the final Mass of the biggest gathering of youth in the world and the world is preparing to be in Sydney in 2008. On the weekend of February 23/24 over 20 committed people from around the Diocese will meet in Halls Gap to begin preparations as leaders in their parishes.
