Faith Formation Day


The Women at the Well Group are hosting another faith formation day in Warrnambool. Speaker: Tracy Rowland - Council for Australian Catholic Women (CACW)- Tracy will speak about her new book: Ratzinger's Faith - The Theology of Pope Benedict XVI". When: Saturday 12th April; Time: 10am to 2.30pm; Where: OLHC Parish Centre, Selby Road, East Warrnambool. Please bring a lunch to share. Donation $10. All Welcome.

World Vocations Sunday

Each year, World Day of Prayer for Religious and Priestly Vocations is held on the 4th Sunday of Easter.  This year, 2008, in which WYD will be celebrated here in Australia, is indeed a special time for all of us to remember to pray for those who have already answered God’s call to priesthood and religious life.

New facilities at OLHC Warrnambool

On Friday 29th February Bishop Peter Connors blessed the new administration area and student amenities at Our Lady Help of Christians School, Warrnambool East.

Clergy Appointments

Bishop Connors recently announced clergy appointments.  Father Greg Tait will conclude his term as Administrator of the Parish of Maryborough on Saturday, 29 March 2008. Father Gerry Baldock will act as interim Administrator of the Parish as from that day, in addition to his present duties as Parish Priest of the Parishes of Redan and Beaufort. 
Father Bill van de Camp will take up an appointment as Parish Priest of the Parishes of Koroit and Port Fairy on a date that is still to be determined.

Mass of the Oils

On  Monday, March 17th, the beginning of Holy Week, St Patrick’s Cathedral, Ballarat was packed with people from around the Diocese for the Mass of the Oils. The Mass of the Oils or Chrism Mass is our annual celebration of the local Diocesan Church of Ballarat. The Oils of the Sick, of Baptism and the Chrism were received by parish representatives to be taken to the parish communities for use during 2008.

Key Diocesan personnel gathered recently in Halls Gap to consider the further development of the Diocesan Strategic Plan for Catholic education in the Diocese of Ballarat.
