A REFLECTION

We all pass through stages of development in our lives. When we are babies, we are totally dependant on outside help for our survival but as we grow up we learn skills and develop self-confidence so that we can eventually stand on our own two feet. However, Jesus recognises the danger in getting stuck at this stage of self-sufficiency. In his love, Jesus calls us on… Unless Christ lives within us, then we are bound to have a distorted view of reality, a view that will even taint those relationships we hold most dear. We won’t in fact ever be able to fulfil the two principal commandments of loving God and our neighbour as ourselves unless somehow the lens through which we see the world is cleansed.    - Paul Taylor in Christian Meditation", Terra Spiritus Volume 3, Issue 5.
