The Foundation is a response to changing needs within the Diocese. The Foundation was established in 1986 to raise funds to assist the Bishop fund the pastoral needs of the Diocese of Ballarat. The faith and generosity of earlier generations endowed us with churches, schools, presbyteries and other facilities. The present generation is faced with the challenge of providing services to the people of the Diocese without imposing further levy burdens on Parishes
Goals of the Foundation
Traditional means of meeting long and short-term needs are no longer adequate. The Foundation is a combination of PEOPLE and ASSETS. It was established to allow the Diocese to continue to fund its Religious, Charitable and Educational responsibilities on a continuing basis whilst attracting a body of lay people whose dedication and expertise will assist in the growth of the Church. Donations to the Foundation make up a fund that remains untouched, and it is the earnings from that fund which supports Diocesan Services. All contributions will help our Church in perpetuity. The short-term goal is to build up an amount of $10M to allow the Diocese to meet existing needs
