Taking out the rubbish and feeding farm animals were just a few chores the students did to earn pocket money, allowing them to purchase presents for the St Vincent de Paul Christmas Appeal.
Sacred Heart Catholic Church’s Christmas tree was piled high with toys for all age groups, donated by fifty Year 5 students as part of their economics and social justice religious education unit. Teacher Maria Beer said students were given seven weeks to earn up to $10 by doing chores around the home.
