World Communication Day

In Australia, World Communications Day will this year be celebrated on Sunday, May 26. It is held on the following Sunday in many countries, but with the Solemnity of the Ascension celebrated on Sunday in Australia (June 2 this year), World Communications Day is marked a week earlier to avoid clashing with the Ascension.

Pope Francis released his message for World Communications Day 2019. As is the custom, the message was released on January 24, the feast day of St Francis de Sales, the patron saint of journalists.
