On Wednesday, November 27, the Year 4 Mini Vinnies volunteers from St Patrick’s School, Camperdown attended St Vincent de Paul and the Corangamite Regional Assistance Centre. The volunteers have done a fantastic job this year collecting donations for Vinnies.
They ran a Winter Appeal collecting winter clothing and blankets and a Food Drive collecting canned goods to donate. To conclude their volunteering for the year they are designing Christmas cards to donate to Vinnies.
Part of their experience at the Corangamite Regional Assistance Centre was to participate in a mock board meeting where students saw what the volunteers discuss and the successes that they have had this year. They were also taken through the intake process which ascertains what assistance can be given to people.
We thank Andrew O’Flynn and the team for providing this opportunity for our students to see how their volunteering and donations have assisted our community. We are extremely proud of our Mini Vinnies volunteers. They have demonstrated kindness and a willingness to help our wider community.
