2025: A year of adventure
|
|
2025 promises to be an “annus mirabilis” (wonderful year) in the life of the Church. Nativity Scene Display -The first nativity scene recorded in history was conceived by St Francis of Assisi in 1223. To highlight the importance of the birth of Jesus, St Francis of Assisi obtained permission from the sovereign Pontiff to construct a nativity scene in a cave near Greccio, Italy.

58th World Day of Peace – January 1, 2025
|
|
Pope Francis’ message for the 58th World Day of Peace is “Forgive Us Our Trespasses, Grant Us Your Peace”. He calls for wealthy countries to cancel the debt of poorer countries and develop a just international financial system, for the death penalty to be abolished everywhere and for, at least, a fixed percentage of armament budgets to be devoted to ending hunger and providing education for a sustainable future.

We are a community of communities from the Murray to the sea.
Inspired by the Gospel and nourished by the Eucharist,
we follow the example of Jesus and the guidance of the Holy Spirit,
reaching out in joyful and humble service,
caring for all of God’s creation,
growing in love day by day
and looking forward to life with God forever.
