CELEBRANT: Whenever two or three gather in Jesus’ name, he is there as he promised. Heartened by his presence, let us pray with hope and faith.

We pray for Christian communities around the world, that they will be clear examples of integrity, conversion and reconciliation.

We pray for mediators and peace-makers, that their wisdom and expertise will make the world a safer place.

We pray for nations with advanced health resources, that they will share them freely with those ill-equipped to deal with the coronavirus pandemic.

Loving God, hear us R. Loving God, hear our prayer.
We pray for those at greater disadvantage in this health crisis, especially people with disabilities and members of border communities, that they will be given the extra support they need.

Loving God, hear us R. Loving God, hear our prayer.
We pray for fathers, step-fathers, grandfathers and all who have a fatherly role, that they will be blessed in loving those entrusted to their care.

Loving God, hear us R. Loving God, hear our prayer.
We pray for children and adults unable to read, that International Literacy Day will prompt renewed investment in teachers and resources for them.

We pray for all at risk of taking their own lives, that they will reach out for the support that family, friends or the community can offer them.

We pray for the makers of environmental law in our land, that they will ensure the protection of species under threat of extinction.

We pray for the recently deceased Daniel Ryan, Heather Martin, Denise Koll, Romeo Amaral, Sister Marie Jones, Peter Driscoll and those whose anniversaries we honour Our deceased Fathers and Grandfathers, Barbara Hughson, Rex Struth, Danny O’Keefe, Annie Peach, Wim Vandemark
