To add a little smile to everyone’s faces and give our children a positive vibe and something of fun to look forward to St Joseph’s Primary School Warrnambool have introduced ‘Wonderful Wednesdays’. A chance to dress up, share humour and a spirit of hope in these challenging times!
“This is a great idea! Nice to have something fun & interesting for the kids … and easy for the parents!!” … Just one of the many comments we received from our families.
‘Wonderful Wednesday’ was also heard being called ‘Crazy Wednesday’, ‘Hat Day’, ‘Crazy Hat Day’ and ‘Weird Wednesday’. Whatever you called it was fun and enjoyed by many students. Staff also had a bit of fun choosing their hat, crazy hair, their dress up or whatever the theme is and wearing it to their ‘google meet’ or when at school for an on-site day.
We thank everyone for their participation and for embracing the idea of making one day a week a bit special. On ‘Wonderful Wednesday Hat Day’, some children made their hats and some families made the day extra special with a “lunch order”.
The ‘Wonderful Wednesday’ theme of crazy hair day was very popular! We saw some crazy hairstyles, families were encouraged to use ribbons, accessories and hair products that they already have in their homes rather than make a special trip to the shop.
Thanks to families who have embraced our first ‘Wonderful Wednesday!’
